About Audra

audraheadcalAudra was bitten by the entertainment bug at a very young age.  She started dancing when she was 2 1/2 years old, singing when she was 7 or 8, and absolutely convinced she wanted to be an entertainment reporter by her sophomore year of high school.

As the entertainment reporter for San Diego’s ABC affiliate, Audra covered such star-studded events as the Academy Awards, Daytime Emmy Awards, opening of Disneyland’s Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage ride and Dancing With the Stars. She was also one of only two journalists in the nation to be embedded in a production of CATS during its national tour.

Audra has interviewed many of Hollywood’s finest actors, directors and producers, including Robin Williams, Jon Voigt, Helen Mirren, George Lopez, Teri Hatcher, Dakota Fanning, Jerry Bruckheimer and Henry Selick. She has also interviewed top Broadway producers Scott Sanders and Tom Hulce.

As a contributor to BroadwayWorld.com, Audra covers San Diego’s renowned theatre community, including the Tony Award-winning La Jolla Playhouse and The Old Globe.

Audra is a distinguished graduate of San Diego State University’s Television, Film and New Media Production program, where she earned two Student Emmys.   Audra also received an Emmy for her work as producer of 10-4 San Diego.   She is a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild.
